The Center for Gene Therapy is focused on the translational development of gene therapies for inherited disorders. The Institute has a long history of engagement with biotech partners, and research at the center has led to approved therapies for spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A significant number of projects are underway at various stages of preclinical development, including ones directed towards new or improved approaches to DMD, limb-girdle muscular dystrophies, inherited neuropathies, and degenerative and developmental disease of the central nervous system.
