Complement Therapeutics (CTx) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to developing novel therapeutics for complement-mediated diseases. The company’s lead investigational program is CTx001, a novel AAV2-based gene therapy targeting Geographic Atrophy (GA) secondary to dry age-related macular degeneration—a progressive disease causing irreversible blindness in over 5 million people globally. Designed as a single subretinal injection, CTx001 delivers mini-CR1, a truncated and secreted form of Complement Receptor 1, to enable sustained, targeted modulation of complement pathways. CTx is actively advancing CTx001 through the clinical pipeline, supported by the non-interventional Pre-GAIN natural history study and the Phase I/II Opti-GAIN clinical trial. Opti-GAIN is a multi-centre clinical study evaluating the safety, tolerability and pre-liminary efficacy of CTx001 administered via a single subretinal injection in 75 participants with Geographic Atrophy secondary to Age-related Macular Degeneration. Beyond GA, CTx is expanding its pipeline to target other complement-mediated conditions.
