Perpetuu Bio (previously HBVtech) is developing transformative gene therapies for serious viral diseases using a proprietary in vivo AAV platform designed to provide durable therapeutic benefit following a single administration. The lead program is a potentially curative therapy for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection that directly eliminates viral cccDNA and rcDNA, addressing the fundamental source of viral persistence. A second lead program is a long-acting prophylactic therapy for cytomegalovirus (CMV) in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients through sustained expression of a potent CMV-neutralizing antibody, with the potential to replace months of antiviral therapy. These programs demonstrate the versatility of Perpetuu’s platform to both eradicate persistent viral infections and provide durable protection against life-threatening viral disease. Led by an experienced team with expertise in gene therapy, antiviral development, FDA regulatory strategy, and biotechnology commercialization, Perpetuu is advancing a focused pipeline addressing large markets with significant unmet medical need.
